(OOC: Lololol vague pirating i think? idk narrating or some such)
Together the three began their patrol--or resumed, as it was. Applepelt was happily content all the while, letting Voidheart lean against her as he needed and pausing every so often so they could renew the scent markers or catch some prey.
It wasn't long before the sun was high in the sky and the she-cat paused, perking up her ears.
"Shh," she gestured for Voidheart to sit down, though her eyes had already zeroed in on a mouse scuttling about not too far away. "Fresh-kill, straight ahead!"
When her Clanmate was sitting and she no longer had the added weight pressing against her, Applepelt immediately dropped in to her hunter's crouch and began to stalk forward. The mouse had its back to her and its head buried under a fallen leaf; it noticed too late the predator upon it, and just as it was about to run away, Applepelt sprang, clapping her paw down on it and delivering a swift bite that killed it instantly.

Stormpaw quickly slowed down, finding this patrol much more boring than he had hoped. While he remained ahead of the two warriors, he lumbered along rather mindlessly. He hadn't even noticed how loud he was being until Applepelt interrupted with the announcement of prey and he dropped down to the ground to prevent anymore from scuttling away ahead of them.
While he didn't say anything, Stormpaw thought that the way Applepelt had pounced and killed it off so quickly was more impressive than he would dare to admit. While he hadn't yet had many lessons in the area, Stormpaw did fancy he had a knack for hunting.
Once Applepelt had finished with the mouse, Stormpaw pushed himself back up from the ground with a grunt. "Can we just go back to camp? I'm bored. We have enough, and there's nothing going on here." He sounded like a petty kit.

Voidheart watched Applepelt hunt. She was very impressive. Her technique was spot on and smooth, almost more of a dance than a hunt.
Voidheart glanced at Stormpaw. He had to agree with the apprentice, no matter how annoying he was. I'm not much good for a patrol anyway. He sighed and nodded. "We should head back, I need to get my paw checked out anyway."

Applepelt returned with her prey in her jaws, though her ears twitched when hearing the two toms whine. Still, she dropped her mouse and smiled, happily flicking her tail.
"We can go back, sure," she purred, picking her mouse back up and returning to Voidheart's side so that he could lean against her again if he needed to. "Le's go," she added, though in a muffled voice thanks to the mound of fur in her mouth.

Voidheart stood to go. He hesitated for a moment. "Do you want help with that?" He offered.
---
Dewtail squeezed out of her den and trotted to the freshkill pile. Her belly was rumbling with hunger. She had been so occupied with sorting her herb piles that the thought of food had slipped her mind.
The pile was very small, only a few scrawny mice and a vole. She guessed the hunting patrols hadn't returned yet. She glanced up at the sun, it was getting late, why weren't they back yet?
She turned again to the freshkill, she was too hungry to wait, a mouse would fill her up, at least until there was more. She plucked the biggest one from the pile and padded over to a shaded rock on the side of the clearing to enjoy her meal.

When the trio returned to camp, Applepelt's first priority was not the fresh-kill dangling from her mouth. In fact, it was dropping the kills just by the camp entrance, and then leading Voidheart over to Dewtail's den.
"Sit here, okay?" She instructed with a light-hearted purr. "Dewtail's right over there. I'll go get her for you!"

Voidheart did as Applepelt asked. "Thanks Applepelt"

A pleased giggle escaped, and Applepelt purred as she turned on her paws. "Don't thank me, Voidheart. I'm happy to help!"
With a swish of her tail, she padded away to where the medicine cat was sitting, beaming huge as she crept up next to the fellow she-cat.
"Hi, Dewtail!" she greeted cheerfully. "Sorry to bother you, but Voidheart hurt his foot. Would you mind taking a look?"

Voidheart purred, pleased to be the attention of the pretty she cat.
"Hi." Dewtail licked her whiskers, cleaning off the rest of the mouse she had eaten. "Oh? What'd he do?" Dewtail stood and headed over to where Voidheart sat waiting.

"He did something to it while training with Stormpaw," Applepelt explained as she followed Dewtail over.
When they reached Voidheart, though, the she-cat didn't get as close as she typically would have. She was probably just giving Dewtail enough room to work, but there was an odd look in Applepelt's eye too... Something distracted, yet concerned.

Dewtail padded over to Voidheart. She asked him to hold out his paw. She carefully sniffed it and gently pushed and prodded to test the extent of the injury.
Voidheart did as he was told without complaint, he did wince every now and then. His eyes weren't on Dewtail as she worked though, they were on Applepelt.
