With a great big yawn and a stretch of all four paws, Glorypaw dragged himself out of his warm nest in the apprentice's den.
It'd been a fitful night for the young tom--sleep hadn't been coming very easily, lately. He thought it had something to do with the dreams he kept having, but... it was like every time he woke up the next morning, he forgot everything about the dream. He wasn't sure if it was scary or a message from StarClan or anything, and that was probably worrying him the most out of all.
Still, though, his exhaustion was clear as he shuffled his way out in to the main camp. Immediately the apprentice bee-lined for the fresh-kill pile, despite how small it was given the time of day. Apparently, no hunting parties had returned with new kills.
He picked himself a robin from the stack and paced away, settling down in the sun to eat his breakfast (albeit in a rather slow and distracted manner.)

Hazelstar had just finished off a small mouse and was busy licked her muzzle contentedly when Glorypaw emerged from his den. Judging by the size of his yawn, he hadn't had the most agreeable night.
With a stretch, Hazelstar pushed herself up and padded over to the young tom, who seemed to be so absorbed in his own thought in didn't seem to notice his food nor his mentor. "Had a tough sleep?" Hazelstar questioned sympathetically, then continued with a smile, "Come, finish that off and I'll teach how to snag a rabbit." She told him, beckoning with her long and slender tail towards the entrance.

He really hoped it was subtle.
That is, when Hazelstar's voice made him flinch. His pelt ended up sticking out in all different directions, though with a few hasty licks, it was settling back down again.
"O-oh, um," he started, blinking--trying to determine what it was she had just said to him because in all honesty he had not been listening. "S-sure. I'm done anyway."
He nudged the half-eaten robin away, and then hurried to his paws and to his mentor's side.

Hazelstar had clearly frightened the young tom. Surprise has flamed up in eyes and he seemed near-incapable of constructing coherent sentences. She watched with a raised eyebrow as he pushed away his fresh-kill and jumped to his feet, clearly having missed her offer to wait as he finished eating.
She quickly shrugged it off, knowing he understood that fresh-kill was not be killed while out hunting, and training was no exception to this rule. She beamed him a smile and chirped, "All the better! We can still catch some of that morning gleam!"
Hazelstar turned around, her tail flowing gracefully behind her, and hopped through the gorse tunnel up onto the moors. "I was thinking we could visit the old badger set again. There are always prey wandering about there, it will give you some good practice."

...Frankly, Glorypaw was more focused on trying to keep his feet moving. His paws felt like deadweights.
"Okay," he mumbled distractedly--badger set? So then they were hunting.
Maybe this won't be so bad, he thought as he neared the top of the gorse tunnel. Maybe he could focus today. Maybe he'd find a secret store of energy somewhere and do well. Maybe he wouldn't make an absolute fool of himself--
Smack!
Somewhere, Glorypaw wondered if the whole of StarClan was out to get him.
As it was, when his paw slipped right out from under him and he face-planted in to the grass at the very edge of the gorse tunnel, he didn't move at first despite the blinding pain in his face and whole head.
No, he sort of just sat there, and internally agonized over the fact that today was clearly not going to be a good day.
And when he finally did lift himself out of the grass, he shook his head, and then his pelt, and stumbled as he heaved himself the rest of the way out from the tunnel.

Hazelstar stopped in her tracks after a loud smack echoed through her ears, and turned around. Glorypaw was sitting still on the ground, seemingly staring at something that wasn't visible to Hazelstar. She cocked her head, and eyed him worrisomely for a moment. He didn't seem completely awake. His fur was still sticking out in tufts and caked with moss, not to mention the fact that he didn't even seem to know what 'paws' were.
"Are you you sure you don't need to rest a moment longer and finish that robin?" Hazelstar questioned, as the apprentice heaved himself back up from the grass and continued making his way to through the tunnel. While she didn't sound angry, she was a bit perturbed and didn't want Glorypaw tripping and shooting straight down a foxhole.

Hazelstar's question made Glorypaw's ears droop.
With a heavy, burdened sigh, he crept over and sat by his mentor. He figured it would be better to come clean and explain why he was so tired instead of leaving her to guess and wonder like the rest of the Clan.
"I... I haven't been sleeping very well," he murmured with eyes on his paws. "And when I do sleep, I--I have dreams. But when I wake up, I can't remember what they were. I don't know if they're nightmares or... or messages from StarClan, or anything. I-I'm sorry, Hazelstar. I should have told you sooner."

Ratwhisker padded out of her den. Moss clung stubbornly to her pelt. She shook herself vigorously but it still clung to her short uneven fur. She growled and dropped to the ground where she propelled herself across the ground on her side. She continued like this until she was satisfied that all of the offending moss bits were off of her fur.
She sat up and hissed as dirt fell into her eyes. She shook herself again and a huge cloud of dirt flew erupted from her body. She took a few steps, set down and began grooming herself. It was quick work.
Finished Ratwhisker sighed and looked around, completely bored.

Hazelstar, at the sight of Glorypaw's deep and fretful sigh, sat down and watched as Glorypaw slithered back over to her. It seemed he was finally going to tell her what had been going on.
Once Glorypaw finished, Hazelstar frowned, a jumble of thoughts trying to organize themselves in her head. "What makes you think they're Starclan dreams?" She questioned, deciding not to press him with why it took him so long to step forward. And besides, if these were Starclan dreams, Glorypaw might just be better off talking to Marrowbone about it.

"W-well..." something akin to sheepishness flashed in his eyes, and the young apprentice dipped his head, frowning.
"When... when this first started happening, I remembered a story I once heard as a kit. That, um, sometimes, StarClan will send living cats dreams in their sleep. But I... I can't ever remember what my dreams are about. So I don't know for sure what they are. I...I'm sorry, Hazelstar."

Hazelstar remained silent for a moment. While Glorypaw's suspicions could very well be true, Hazelstar didn't feel there was all much she could do at the moment, given his memories of the dreams.
Not wishing to worry him any longer, and knowing that the apprentice had meant well, Hazelstar smiled. "That's true. Don't be too hard on yourself, dreams are fluffy and can be difficult to remember! If anything comes to you, come talk to me or Marrowbone, okay?" She nodded, looking at him with a determined sincerity.
"Now, how about we put those dreams off for now - they won't be much use while you're awake - and find some good rabbits to bring back to the fresh-kill pile!" She told him with a grin, and turned around with a flick of her tail to pad off in the direction of the badger set again.

Glorypaw perked up. As his mentor spoke, gradually, he began to relax; and then he was smiling and even his tail pricked up off the ground.
"Y--yeah! Thanks, Hazelstar!" he purred, and was much more eager to follow after her.

Blackforce stood on a rock, staring out toward Shadowclan territory. She squinted as a gust of wind tore at her fur, but she remained steady on the rock. A million thoughts raced through her head too fast for her to organize. Her eyes darted back and forth, either as a way to sort her thoughts or to search the territory. The sound of moving brush made her head turn sharply right. She stayed in that position, head cocked, for a few moments before shaking her neck and bounding from the rock.
A rabbit darted by near her, clearly having no desire to stay near the deputy. Blackforce watched it go, her silver eyes clearly focused on something else, something only she could see.

ooc: Sorry, Scar, I completely forgot your cat's name began with black when I made Blacktwister. I might change it, but right now I can't think of another name.
bic: Ratwhisker huffed, completely bored, she stood up and left the camp. She trotted up the windy slopes. She didn't like the sun on her pelt. It made her itch, she stopped several times to lick her pelt frantically. She shook herself violently and sprinted up the rest of the slope, somewhat hoping she could outrun the itchiness. At the top of the hill she flopped onto the grass and rolled over and over.
--- Blacktwister crouched in the grass staring at a rabbit. Her limbs trembled with anticipation. It was taking most of he concentration to stay still enough to get close enough to the rabbit before giving chase. She was about to leap forward when a cat flashed by inches from her nose. She yowled and jumped back. She barely caught Ratwhisker's scent before the other shecat was gone again. Blacktwister growled, her rabbit was gone.

ooc: That's okay. I don't mind if you guys don't.
Blackforce padded toward the Thunderpath. She walked slowly, her eyes taking in her surroundings. Another rabbit darted by, and she ignored it like she had the last. Every possible thought crossed her mind, but none of them stayed. She grunted in disappointment and shut down her cognitive engine.
Her eyes came back into focus and her steps became more purposed. She glanced back in the direction the rabbit had gone, but it was out of sight. Better catch something for the clan, give them a reason for my absence.

Ratwhisker lay in the grass panting, her pelt still hot and itchy. She let out an annoyed hiss and got to her paws. She headed for the small stream that ran across the moors. When she reached it she hesitated. She hated being wet, but she knew the cool water would ease the itchiness in her pelt. Reluctantly, she waded into the water. She crouched and rolled over in the water, making sure all her pelt was wet.
--
Blacktwister stormed off in the opposite direction Ratwhisker had gone. She was deeply annoyed that the older she cat had scared off her prey and she was scared what she would do if she saw Ratwhisker any time soon. She headed toward the Shadowclan border, hoping to find more prey she could take back to the clan

Blackforce scented the air. Detecting a hint of mouse closer to the thunderpath she crouched and crawled that way. After a few tail-lengths she scented the air again. The stench of Shadowclan grew stronger with every stride. She buried her disgust as she picked out the trail of a mouse.
As she passed a bush the rodent came into sight. It stopped moving and sniffed. Blackforce continued moving, knowing she was downwind. Its realization that she was there came a fraction of a moment before the releasing of its life. She quickly buried it.

Blacktwister climbed on top of a pile of rocks, hoping she would see some rabbits anywhere. Once at the top, Blacktwister narrowed her eyes against the wind and scanned the moors. She spotted several rabbits immediately. There was a group of them near the ThunderPath.

Blackforce glanced around for any sign of other prey. She refused to scent the air and be pelted by the odor of the other clan. She picked out a rabbit trail and crept slowly along it. She hesitated when she realized she was headed for the thunderpath, but forced herself to keep going, she had to catch more prey.
