So I had a thought
ThunderClan has already started seeing a problem with their fresh-kill rotting too fast.
Thoughts on something happening to their prey sources? Illness, constant maggots/worms or something? It could be a parasite that's passing around the prey.

Ooh, I love multi-clan plots. O: Starclan warning everyone of some mass oncoming disease.

"What" could be a previously unknown and seemingly incurable disease that is brought on by eating infected freshkill. And not just rotting freshkill necessarily.
"How" could be something twolegs have done or something...

Going off of what you said, Owl, it could be a case of botulism running rampant www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/neurological/c_ct_botulism#.UavxfUBOQ9IWhere they are feral cats and eating other animals, usually hours after those animals have been hunted, there's a high chance that botulism can come about That wouldn't necessarily explain the maggots, though. Just that the meat is rotted and there's a higher chance that the bacteria is present. Yes/no?
