She stared at him, jaws opened in shock that portrayed in her dual coloured eyes, after a few heartbeats she swiped her tongue around her lips before giggling, "Is that it! Oh thank Starclan, Strayheart you had me thinking you were dying!"
Silverleaf laid down next to him licking his ears as a mother would to to a restless kit, "You are not different, when you look at another tom you fancy you feel a tug on your heart, butterflies in your belly, you get nervous and all that lovey junk. And that's what I feel like when I look at a tom or she-cat that I fancy," she grinned at him, she did think about she-cats in a romantic sense, but never thought to bring it up because it didn't matter, "And that's what every cat feels, you are not different there is nothing wrong with you and really your only fault was in trying to distance yourself. But you shouldn't worry about that either, all it takes is involving yourself more."

It took a few seconds.
And then Strayheart's head raised off his paws, and that traditional frustrated expression he tended to wear came back full-force on his face.
"Wait, what? You mean you--other cats actually do it too?!"
But how was that possible? He'd never seen any other cats, not even from other Clans, mooning over fellow toms or she-cats! Although, he'd never really been looking out for it either...
Fish guts, and here he'd thought StarClan had made him different and a target for bullying all this time.
Tail-tip began twitching at his paws as the tabby cat pushed himself to sit upright. His ears went flat and he scowled at the ground.
"I feel like a mousebrain now..."

"Don't, you're no mousebrain," she licked over his ears again, "You were just confused and scared."
Silverleaf's eyes sparkled with playfulness, "Sooo any toms take your fancy?"

If nothing else, Strayheart instantly became flustered, and his ears felt hot after such a "daring" question.
"I--! I don't!" he spat, lashing his tail stubbornly. "I mean, no one in particular at least! What about you, huh?"

Silverleaf rolled her eyes, "Sure you don't." She tipped her head at his question grooming her chest fur a couple of times to buy her some time as she thought about it, "Well I'm not actually interested in love right now, I just want to serve Riverclan," the silver tabby snorted, "Plus knowing my luck it'll probably be a cat in Starclan that I fall for."

"Psh. Tell me about it," Strayheart mumbled, agreeing with that whole-heartedly.
For a few moments, there was nothing; eventually, however, the gray tabby shook his pelt with a loud groan.
"I can't believe I wasted all those moons thinking I was going to be exiled from the Clans for this," he grumbled, scratching at his cheek with a back paw. Completely agitated now. "And now everyone thinks I'm some huge grump."

"Opinions change very quickly," she murmured thinking carefully about his unique situation, "I wouldn't worry too much about the clan hating you, they certainly do not but they, and I for a while, were just reacting the way we thought you wanted us to. If you want to change the way they see you, it's about time you smoothed ruffled pelts!"

"Well that's easier said than done!" Strayheart groaned, and he stood up, beginning to walk in the direction of the river where they had abandoned their Clanmates earlier.
Only, he paused in mid-step, and with lowered ears, he turned back to Silverleaf with... something of a smile on his face.
"Thanks," he murmured to her. "I... I really needed to talk to someone. I'm glad it was you."

Brackenfall purred contentedly, allowing the sun to soak in warm his back. Sweeping his gaze across the clearing, he could see no other cats present, save for a few still audibly snoring within their dens. He had just finished off a good, juicy finch and could honestly say he was enjoying the day, despite it's relatively lazy nature. He gave one good stretch, before resting his head on his paws and closing his eyes for just a little bit of a nap.

Rainspots sat beside the river. Her gaze intent on the world below the surface. Silvery brown fish darted among the floating plants. Raispots hesitated and then raised a paw. She selected a fish. Wen she was ready she shot out her paw and hooked the fish out of the water. It flew into the air above her sprinkling her with water drops. She squeaked as the fish landed on her head. It's tail slapped her nose and it fell to the ground where it flopped.
Rainspots winced and shook the water from her fur. She hesitantly pawed at the fish. The fish flopped around her. She turned and tried to catch it. Forgetting to unsheathe her claws, the fish slipped from her grasp. It flopped toward the water. She leaped for it and slipped sending the fish and herself flying into the water with a big splash. Rainspots jumped from the water and gasped in air. She pulled herself from the stream and shook out her fur. The scene had scared away the rest of the fish. Rainspots frowned. Discouraged she jumped over the stream and bounded back into camp, on the verge of tears. I'll never be good at fishing!

Thornwhisker had trailed somewhat behind the rest of the patrol, hoping to carry some fresh-kill on the way to the river. The group ahead had been making such a commotion however, that any prey that could have been scuttling about had darted deep into their little homes again. He flicked his ears with mild irritance and broke into a bound, heading for the river.
He was only halfway there when another pelt tore past him. He skidded to a halt and whipped around. "Rainspots?" He shouted after her, thinking he recognized the distinct dark grey spots upon the silver coat. "Is everything all right?" He continued, hoping Thunderclan hadn't launched another ridiculous battle in the hope of stealing more territory from them.

Rainspots spun around, startled by Thornwhisker's appearance, she hadn't noticed him. Her ears burned with with embarrassment. She quickly wiped the tears from her eyes and composed herself. "Y-yes. Everything's fine. I just fell into a stream." Her voice wavered. She looked down at her paws. "It startled me, that's all." She finished quietly.

Thornwhisker had to work to keep the pity out of his eyes, not wishing to upset the she-cat any further. Her voice was on the point of breaking, and while he wasn't the most intuitive, he didn't believe that was the fault of a tumble in the stream. "Are you sure?" He questioned again, wishing nothing but kindness on her.

Rainspots shivered as a breeze picked up. She fluffed up her wet fur as much as she could, but it was still plastered to her sides. She licked her chest a couple of times. Nervously, she looked into Thornwhisker's eyes. He seemed genuinely concerned. For a moment she thought of telling him about the problem's she was having with hunting. She quickly pushed that thought away. Thornwhisker was such a great warrior and an experienced hunter. What would he think of her if he knew she could barely hunt as well as a newly named apprentice? He'd think she was a helpless kit! Rainspots flattened her ears and looked away. "Yeah." She mumbled.

Thornwhisker eyed her for a moment longer. He remained unconvinced, but if she didn't wish to tell him, then that was her choice. Not that she could blame him, he wasn't exactly the greatest at giving counsel. "All right." He nodded, and then swished with his tail in the direction of camp. "You should get back and warm up, you don't want to catch whitecough." He added sympathetically, before turning around and heading for the river again.

Rainspots nodded. She watched Thornwhisker pad away, disappointed to see him go. She shook her head, she had done the right thing. That last thing she wanted was for Thornhisker to think she was weak. She bounded the rest of the way to camp and breathed a sigh of relief, only Brackenfall was in the clearing and he looked like he was napping. Rainspots settled down and groomed her wet fur.

Brackenfall winked open one eye at the sound of pawsteps, and after seeing to whom those pawsteps belonged, he quickly opened the other and sat up. It was Rainspots. She seemed to be drenched to the bone. He stood up, stretched his legs, and padded over to settle down next to her, wondering internally whether it was appropriate for him to help her groom her fur.
"You look like you went for a nice swim! What happened?" He questioned, before deciding that it probably was appropriate and giving her shoulder a few meek licks.

Rainspots stopped grooming abruptly, taken aback by Brackenfall's approach. She quickly relaxed. Brackenfall was a good friend and she felt comfortable with him. "I was just fishing." She mewed, licking a paw.

Rainspots did not seem deterred by his grooming. In fact, she didn't even seem to notice it. Brackenfall momentarily considered whether this was good thing, or a bad thing, before deciding for the former.
"Did you catch anything good?" He replied, as he continued gently licking her shoulder.

Rainspots stopped grooming for a moment. She didn't feel like she had to pretend to be better than she was with Brackenfall like she did Thornwhisker. She thought of Thornwhisker for a moment, sharp eyes, sleek fur. She caught herself purring. Her ears burned, she hoped Brackenfall didn't guess where her thoughts had escaped to. "No" She answered, continuing her grooming. "I scared all the fish away."
